Me Myself & Monotone

Me Myself & Monotone is a deeply personal collection and a visual manifesto of the FIKANA aesthetic. It explores my artistic identity through a quiet, intuitive and monochromatic language, where the precision of symmetry meets the spontaneity of abstract expression.

Created using black and white gouache on grey archival paper, each piece explores the relationship between presence and absence. Working with a restricted palette allows the focus to rest on the texture of the paint, the rhythm of each mark and the organic forms that emerge through the inkblot technique.

Inspired by the mirrored shapes of inkblot art, the works invite personal interpretation, allowing emotions, images and meanings to surface naturally. Each composition finds its own balance between spontaneity and symmetry, creating a quiet, meditative quality.

This collection is a dialogue between what is seen and what is felt. It celebrates the subtle power of monochrome, revealing how much can be expressed through form, texture and gesture when colour is stripped away.
